Maple cabinets and the cherry island blend well with walnut hardwood floors. The layered tile in different size below the upper cabinets adds texture and frames the foliage leave pattern tile as an art piece, providing soft movement to the wall. All upper cabinets are outfitted with under-cabinet lighting. Countertops are made of porcelain tile with a slight chocolate glaze to reduce glare and provide ample low-maintenance prep space.";

Top drawers on each side of the cook top were made with the spice inserts for at point-of-use convenience, a drawer opposite the cook top (inside the island) has a cutlery insert to make storage and access to collection of knives handy. The blind corner cabinet is made with Hafela full roll-out double shelf cabinet, eliminating the need to look inside of the cabinet to find items.";

description[8] = "Special consideration was given to the tile design. The accent floral pattern tile was incorporated to add artful flair and became the focal point of the cabinet wall. Under-cabinet lighting helps to highlight soft silvery sage leaves. Polished glass tile in 4x6 frames the entire \"cooking\" wall easing the maintenance and visually raising the ceiling height.";

description[9] = "The former space of the partition wall – its removal allowed us to install a tall cabinet with the oven and microwave with ample landing space all around. description[17] = "This home's original kitchen, essentially unchanged since the original 1984 construction, was due for a renovation. The clients wanted more functionality out of their kitchen area – more counter and cabinet space, a burst of color and texture, and above all ease of everyday use. They wanted a cozy kitchen commensurate with their modest cooking skills.

The new kitchen used every available inch for cabinet and counter space. Seven linear feet of counter space were added to the kitchen along with corner pivot systems, full extension drawers, and roll out shelves. Additionally, the height of the upper cabinets was extended to three feet. Altogether, these improvements nearly doubled the usable storage and counter space.";

description[18] = "Beyond functionality, the design solution called for the use of color, contrasting materials, and reflective surfaces to create the look and feel of an open grand kitchen. The new kitchen combined various textures – stone, wood, glass, fabric, and metals – and exploited their hues to create an inviting visual appeal.

Bamboo hardwoods in natural hues unified the space with the rest of the main floor, provided a spacious feel, and visually extended the kitchen lengthwise.";

description[21] = "The simple \"V\" groove design of the cabinet fronts combined with a rich red merlot stain added warmth and dictated an easy contemporary style. description[22] = "A single-basin large kitchen sink in cast iron was selected to compliment reflective black elements in the appliance front.";

description[23] = "The final touch – designing open to the kitchen dining area. The walls were painted forest green color, a shade deeper than the mozaic tile that frames kitchen's backsplash. Layered custom drape was added to visually extend the ceiling, bring the merlot color in, and tie-in the existing table in natural cherry.";

description[24] = "Homeowners desired a clean understated look for their kitchen with dining space area. To achieve the look, the surfaces were chosen free of texture and embellishments, they combined pure colors and easy maintenance. Mixture of stainless steal, reflective white tile, defused white glass, and brown dominated the kitchen theme. Dining area took more on an Asian flair, with green-tea color added to the blown glass light fixture and the window treatments. Neutral soft beige walls united two areas and filled it with light.";

description[25] = "Porcelain floor tile, reminiscent of tatami mat's texture, helped broaden the feel of the room. Modern 2x6 backsplash tiles added artistic flair to the cooking space. The outer edge of the sink cabinet is rapped in the drywall, dividing the dining area from the kitchen.

Small alcove further differentiated the dining space from the utilitarian kitchen; however, to embrace the open connection between the two rooms, the white wall tile was added.";
